Media and Community Mobilization is an approved activity of Samagra Shiksha among various interventions of MHRD GOI. Samagra Shiksha J&K wants to spread awareness in the nook and corner of the State so that more and more children particularly girls and out of school children are motivated to come to schools for education. Some Districts of the State have gender gap of more than 15% and these districts need continuous focussed attention so that gender gap is bridged and the girls are brought to schools.
Community mobilization engages all sectors of the population in a community-wide effort to address a health, social, or environmental issue. It brings together policy makers and opinion leaders, local, state, and federal governments, professional groups, religious groups, businesses, and individual community members. Community mobilization empowers individuals and groups to take some kind of action to facilitate change.
A lot can be achieved when people from different parts of the community share a common goal and actively participate in both identifying needs and being part of the solution. Community mobilization helps to empower communities and enable them to initiate and control their own development.
